i dont think so::: grimetime on saturday gave rise to the first ever German Grime Star… with the winner HALBGOTT.
All i can say is that i was damn happy that the audience were so unanimously convinced by HALBGOTT::: we didn’t really need to measure decibels coz u lot made so much noise for HALBGOTT that it was obvious he was the winner…
thank fuck for that… or else there would have been a riot!
As usual the UK artists were so impressed with Berlin’s bootyshakers and party people (especially girls) who were born to MOSH!!!
Lethal Bizzle was so content that he was strolling round the club in his Ghana flag (which he got from the hamburg kidz) and only decided to leave when we invited him out for an early mornin’ Mc Donalds at Alexanderplatz!!
...Lethal and Ozzie, 2Face and DJ Twister kept the crowd begging for MO !!! oi oi oiiiiiii …MOSH PIT!!!
BUT BEFORE THAT we hosted the final of the Grimetime’s German MC Competion:::
Killa K, Mc Ko, Mickey vs. Die i.D. vs. Halbgott. Unfortunately, Sookee could not make it to Grimetime, she had some family bizz going on.
so … the Hamburg guys kicked it off…
Killa K, Mc Ko and Mickey performed their track ‘Dreht Durch’.
they brought a whole posse from Hamburg with them! self-confessed grime junkies – they come from a hip hop background and have been repping for quite a bit now. Lately Killa K has mostly been writing alone, but for this competition he got together with Mc Ko (Styleshood) and Mickey at Sinch / Tracksetters Entertainment Studio and recorded the track.
next up was Die i.D. from Berlin on stage with their track ‘Unter Strom’..
Davestarr and Blisz are both fresh in the grime scene, but they’ve been involved in hip hop for many years. Davestarr is a graffiti artist and Blisz has been rhyming since he is 15. their 1st mixtape was already promoted on the Radiostation JamFM.
then Berlin’s Halbgott went on stage…
...he spitted his own track (technically not allowed) – and won! fast flow and conscious lyrics are what got the crowd hooked. Berlin fell for the lonesome warrior. Also hailing from hip hop, Halbgott doesn’t see himself as a grime mc but has been influenced by the sound. He is the only part of the crew Krieger des Lichts and goes with the Edit Label. congratulations bwoy!!
hey HALBGOTT::: sorry we did not get u up there for a final victory round… it was all rather chaotic, TNT started again, and the moment was lost… hell, it was our first MC competition, we are new at this shit… we’ll know better for next time!
also a big THANKS to our support DJ’s.
G-Serve was in top form as usual…

Listen up people of Grimetime…. the decision was not at all easy:—After much hearty discussion we have decided on the following outcome:
INTERNATIONAL WINNER
Ambitieux (Rennes, France)
are the outright winners of the Grimetime competition and we were so impressed that we have decided to award them a full support slot at the next Grimetime on June 16th! They will have the honour of supporting Bruza and Sway!!
GERMAN WINNER
We didn’t want to leave the Germans empty handed so at Grimetime on April 29th the following artists are invited to perform their tracks in a final round ….. and yes, with the assistance of an “applause-o-meter” the audience shall decide!

1st—we are (again, cant say it often enough *g*) absolutely impressed by the effort all the mc’s put in contributing to our competition. THANK YOU !! DANKE !! MERCI !!
2nd—the comment sections are almost exploding… hahaha. stay cool, and keep respecting each other. please!! you all have creative skills and lots energy – so BIG UP FOR THAT TO EVERYONE!!
3rd—i promise we’ll try to have a decision by friday night. but this will be FOR SURE a difficult struggle, so give us this time, please. the styles are so diverse …its gonna be definitely a hard discussion among us…
however we decide, know that we will try to find a way to please you, our grrrrrrimetime peoples!! but we’ll also probably not be able to match all the opinions – of course not – so, dont spit dirt on us if you have a different opinion. OK?!
